What better way to spend the eve of Canada's 151st birthday than with a good ole fashion hockey game and a free skate alongside your fellow Canucks? The Canada Club of Victoria (CCV) in conjunction with the Melbourne Ice are bringing back the Canada Day Ice Hockey Classic on 30 June.
With free skating from 2:30-4:30pm, the puck then drops at 5pm for the game between local hockey heroes, the Melbourne Ice and the Sydney Bears. A rivalry you won't want to miss.
Event Details
A special Canadian menu will be on hand at select parts of the venue along with some other Canadian favourites. And the best part? A teddy bear toss will happen following the first goal of the game in support of the Alannah and Madeline Foundation.
Teddy bears will be available for purchase on the day if you would like to be involved in the teddy bear toss (please buy bears only on the day as they may not be able to accept bears brought into the venue).
This event is open to all Club members as well as their family and friends. To gain entry on the day, you'll need to register and print off a ticket for each person skating and / or watching the hockey.
And be sure to dress loud and proud in your Canadian finest. Skate rental is available at the arena.
